I chose the topic of relationships at an angle that unusual from the rest because being a young adult and almost reaching the age of 30 I am beginning to think about spending the rest of my life with my significant other. Articles in magazines give good advice on the do's and dont's of relationships or how to make a relationship last but no one discusses the small problems in relationships that often lead to the larger problems.
As I began this essay I was very excited about my topic but I found it hard to write due to fact that many of these issues are ignored as I wrote I thought about topics that were discussed in group settings regarding the issue of pet peeves. I really enjoyed discussing this with my friends and various women regarding this issue. Surprisingly, I found that women are not the only sex that experiences these problems with their mates. Men also secretly have their own pet peeves against their mates. It was very hard to find a professional source in this field that was willingly to discuss this issue with me or even to respond to e-mails.
Next time I will be better prepared and not just assume that people will respond. I think that a better approach to addressing them would have given me better results. I will also plan my story better and come up with a topic that is easier to research.
